Capturing families in their homes, doing what they love, is what storytelling is all about.
This session was one Ashley with The Fireside Kind and I had talked about doing for the longest time. This was very unposed with very few prompts, and a great example of how amazing moments can be captured by a family just interacting with each other as they usually do. When I explain to families that my style of photography is more lifestyle and storytelling, this session is a great example of that.
You may be thinking – I don’t live on a farm, so how can I do a session like this?
If you focus on an activity that you all enjoy, magic will be created! Need some ideas?
- Pancake breakfast
- Lego building
- Baking cookies with grandma
- Holiday pajamas + reading books
- Slow Sunday mornings
- Pickleball at the local court
- Boat rides on the family pontoon
- Playing fetch with your family dog
- Slow dancing in the living room
- Basketball in the driveway
- Collecting eggs from your chickens
I could probably keep this list going on and on, but I hope this gives you some fun ideas and creative ways to make your family session more unique, and more created around you + your loved ones. I am currently booking for storytelling + lifestyle family & couple sessions for 2024, so please inquire today if you would like more information. Can’t wait to make some memories with you!
